Did you hear about the latest news on the fatal luge crash that happened in Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games? Well, that is really terrible news and please continue reading if you want to learn more about how did this accident occurred and watch the luge crash death video. Georgian luge athlete Nodar Kumaritashvili lost his control in the 15th curve and crashed in the 16th, causing his death. The bad thing is that it was the final curve. He was really unlucky. His speed was about 90 mph when he went into a steel support pole which was unpadded.
Nodar Kumaritashvili was 21 years old when the accident happened while he was training at the Whistler Sliding Center. Although there was a first rescue worker just nearby and he saw the accident in a very short time, it wasn't enough to save Nodar. After his death, many questions were raised about if he was a qualified athlete or were there any problems on the final curves. Now the workers are working on grooming the curves at which the accident happened and the exit is also modified.
It is important to note that Nodar is not the only one who had problems with this track. Last year, when the events like World Cup and international training weeks were held a number of athletes experienced difficult times to finish the track. This track is famous for its tricky labyrinth of curves and awesome speed. At the same day, another athlete crashed on 11th curve, luckily he was not injured.
Some say that the inexperience of Kumaritashvili was the cause of his death; however, he was qualified to compete in the Olympic games and this would have been the first time for him. We have nothing else to say rest in peace to Nodar
